The big problem is the extremely wealthy rent those in government because they are extremely corrupt. As Rothschild once was attributed as saying : Give me control of a nation's money, and I care not who writes its laws.
Corporations have the power of government melded into themselves. That is one of the definitions of a fascist society. Theft and corruption are rampant. Neither party is sinless here. The parties have ZERO interest in making life better for common people. They never did.
