A change of tactics

As Duke Aiden and Prince Ethan arrived home, the King who was waiting for them smiled in relief.

“My boys. I’m glad you are both still alive. This new enemy is stronger but also weaker than any normal enemy. The Sky People sent more information about these Ancient Muricans. They are from our far distant past, when Murica was the supreme power globally. Europe were our vassals. And the Imperium did not exist yet. We were one nation under God,” said the King.

“That explains the name tags on their uniforms, written in Ancient Murican script. I saw that while I was in the Imperial dungeon,” said Ethan.

“That also explains the banner on their ship. We got a few pictures of the ship during our failed capture on the open sea,” said Aiden.

“That means, maybe persuasion might be stronger than force. I began researching to find weaknesses. These Ancient Muricans are from about 2000 years ago. And the Oracle… that was a crew member of that ship who was rescued from the sea 1700 years ago. The precursor to the Imperium used cyborg technology to make him useful, and available to the Imperium. The third world war caused the Genesis of the Imperium. The fourth world war, also fought here on our soil, is why Murica was unable to reunite,” said the King.

“So we need to somehow get an audience with these Ancients. Maybe bring a gift?” asked Ethan.

“One way or another we need to get the crew of that ship to listen to us.”

The King nodded thoughtfully. “A gift might be a good start. But we need to understand their culture and values. The Sky People mentioned that the Ancient Muricans had a strong sense of honor and duty. Perhaps we can appeal to that.”

Aiden stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with determination. “I suggest we send a delegation. A small, unarmed group to show our peaceful intentions. We can bring artifacts from their time, things that might resonate with them.”

Ethan added, “And we should include someone who can speak their language fluently. The Sky People might have records or even a translator who can help us.”

The King agreed. “Very well. Aiden, you will lead this delegation. Ethan, you will assist in gathering the artifacts and finding a suitable translator. We must act quickly before the Imperium decides to take more drastic measures.”

As the brothers left the throne room to prepare for their mission, the King turned to his advisor. “We are treading on dangerous ground. But if we can forge an alliance with these Ancient Muricans, it could change the course of our history.”

In the days that followed, Aiden and Ethan worked tirelessly. They scoured the royal archives for artifacts, consulted with historians, and coordinated with the Sky People to find a translator. The tension in the air was palpable, but so was the hope.

Finally, the day came for the delegation to set sail. As they boarded the ship, Aiden looked back at the castle, his heart heavy with the weight of their mission. “We must succeed,” he whispered to himself. “For the future of our kingdom.”

The ship sailed towards the horizon, carrying with it the hopes and dreams of a nation. The journey ahead was uncertain, but Aiden and Ethan were ready to face whatever challenges lay in their path.
